Tilia Astell
Tilia joined Rathbones in 2022. She oversees the Group’s thematic work on nature-related risks and opportunities – this includes leading engagements focusing on chemical pollution and regenerative agriculture and working on engagements on deforestation and water security. She also co-leads engagement on climate risk in the banking sector and supports engagement with mining companies and standard-setters on best practices. Tilia also carries out informed proxy voting and supports the integration of ESG factors within the investment process. She also manages the internal coordination for communication on how Responsible Investment adds value for clients. Prior to joining Rathbones, Tilia was Knowledge Officer at Accounting for Sustainability (A4S) where she worked to inspire action by finance leaders to drive a shift towards resilient business models and a sustainable economy.
Tilia is a graduate of Durham University where she studied Geography and has also completed the Chartered Banker Institute’s Certificate in Green and Sustainable Finance.
