Lou is a client service executive in our Cambridge office. She studied English Literature at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge and graduated in 2016. Shortly after she joined Rathbones in December 2016 and has since completed the IOC and is now studying towards a level 4 IMC qualification. Lou supports the investment team and provides clients with a dedicated point of contact for their non-investment needs. She also sits on the Rathbones Cambridge Charity Committee, helping to support and fundraise for charities in the local area.

I am a Senior Financial Planning Director with Rathbones, providing pro-active wealth management advice, with a particular focus on a very high level of personal service and long-term strategic planning. My team serves around 120 clients and their families, including a significant number of current and retired partners at the top legal and accountancy firms and entrepreneurs.
Charles Wilcox

Charles has over 25 years' experience managing investments for charities, private clients and associated family trust structures. His principal role is as a senior fund manager with responsibility for over £250m of client money. He also sits on the Stock Selection Committee with particular expertise in UK companies. Charles is also the Rathbone representative on the FTSE/APCIMS Indices Committee. He was educated at Downside School and Exeter University where he attained a 2:1 degree in Economics and Geography.
Miles Arkwright

Miles joined Rathbones in 2018 having graduated from the University of Exeter. After undertaking the ‘Rathbones Graduate Scheme’, Miles joined the investment desk at the beginning of 2021. He is a Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments (CISI), having achieved the CISI level 4 Investment Advice Diploma (Securities) in 2020 and his Chartered Wealth Manager qualification in 2023.

My focus is on meeting my clients' objectives, with respect to their risk profiles. It is important to have regard to a client's overall financial position at both personal and family level. I then combine my own experiences with Investec's in-house research resources on markets and stocks, both in the UK and overseas, to create bespoke portfolios to meet my client's requirements.

James Hessey

James joined Rathbones in 2016 where he started his career as a graduate trainee. Prior to this, he worked as a paralegal having completed the Legal Practitioners course. James graduated with a second class honours degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from the University of York and has a master's degree in Political Philosophy. James assists with managing private client portfolios, trusts, charities and self-invested personal pensions (SIPPs). He is a CFA Charterholder and Associate of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment (CISI).
Joel Swift

Joel is an investment manager working with both charities and private clients. He joined the Greenbank team within Rathbones in August 2020 and was awarded the CISI’s Masters level Chartered Wealth Manager qualification in December 2021. He also holds the CFA Certificate in ESG Investing. Joel began his career at BDO LLP, where he spent four years as an auditor. He qualified as an ICAEW ACA Chartered Accountant in September 2019. Prior to this, he read History at Durham University, graduating in 2016.

Andrew is an investment director and has a broad and growing client base. Honours graduate in Political Studies from Aberdeen University, Andrew is a Chartered Accountant, having trained with Chiene & Tait in Edinburgh. After qualifying as a CA, he joined Edinburgh Fund Managers (now part of Standard Life Aberdeen), working as a fund manager within the group's UK small companies team and then its enlarged UK department.
Iain Hooley

Iain was appointed as group chief financial officer on 1 January 2024. Iain served as finance director of Investec Wealth & Investment Limited (IW&I) for more than a decade and was appointed CEO of IW&I UK in February 2023. He brings to his current role his extensive knowledge of the sector along with a wealth of experience of financial and regulatory reporting, corporate governance and risk management.
Clive Bannister

Clive was appointed as chair on 12 January 2021. He started his career as a banker at First National Bank of Boston in 1981 in Boston and London, and in 1984, he joined Booz Allen & Hamilton as an associate and became a partner in the financial consulting practice in 1990.
