Kindar joined Rathbones in 2019 with over 20 years’ experience. Kindar is one of a relatively small number of advisers in the UK to hold both the Chartered Financial Planner designation from the Personal Finance Society and the internationally recognised Certified Financial Planner Certification from the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. She is also a qualified financial neutral through Consensus Collaboration Scotland which allows her to act in collaborative divorce cases.
Kirstie McKeown

Kirstie joined Rathbones in February 2013 to assist in establishing the Newcastle office. Previously she spent over 25 years working for Lloyds Private Banking and Lloyds TSB Independent Financial Advisers. Kirstie is part of the specialist personal injury and Court of Protection team at Rathbones and has advised deputies and trustees in this area for over a decade.
David Coombs

David is head of the team that is responsible for managing the Rathbone Multi-Asset Portfolio funds. He joined Rathbones in 2007 after spending 19 years with Baring Asset Management where he managed multi asset funds and segregated mandates. He began his career with Hambros Bank in 1984
John Wyn-Evans

I am responsible for directing the firm's tactical asset allocation within client portfolios. I chair the Asset Allocation Committee as well as sitting on the Global Investment Strategy Group. A key part of my job is to communicate our investment strategy to both investment managers and clients. This is most widely seen in the Weekly Digest and Monthly Commentary products. I also undertake marketing trips around the country, although these are becoming more virtual in their nature. I make regular media appearances to comment on markets.
Marcus Stewart

Marcus joined Rathbones in Newcastle in 2024, and works as an Investment Director specialising in advising and managing portfolios for individuals and their families both in the north east and in London. Marcus graduated from Newcastle University in 2000 before moving to London to work for Brewin Dolphin, a position he held for 9 years. Marcus then moved to become a Client Advisor for UBS Wealth Management in London where he remained for 13 years, before relocating to take the Head of Office role at UBS in Newcastle.
Dianne Jackson

Dianne joined Rathbones as office manager in November 2014 having worked at Barclays Wealth & Investment Management (formerly Gerrard Investment Management) for 14 years where she was an assistant vice president managing the office and the private banking executives. Prior to that, Dianne worked at Armstrong Watson Accountants in Carlisle for over 10 years as office administration manager in the Investment Management division before moving to the North-East in 1998.
Jonathan Sorrell

Jonathan joined Rathbones in July 2025, and was appointed Group Chief Executive Officer in August 2025. Jonathan joins Rathbones from Capstone, the alternatives investment manager, where he was President. Prior to this, Jonathan was Chief Financial Officer and then President of Man Group plc, the listed asset manager. He began his career at Goldman Sachs, where he was a Managing Director working in the Investment Banking, Investment Management and Securities divisions in London and New York.
Niall McMonagle

Niall graduated from Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh with an MA in Finance & Business Law in 2015, before relocating to London to begin his career in Financial Services. Returning to Belfast in 2017, Niall completed his Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning via the CII in 2019 and is currently working towards Chartered Financial Planner status via the CISI.

Carolyn Hewitt

Carolyn is a Senior Investment Analyst for equity investments at Greenbank. She joined Greenbank in June 2024 and has over twenty years’ experience as both an equity analyst and an ESG analyst. She worked for blue-chip banks including Cazenove, Citigroup, UBS, and Deutsche Bank, before switching focus to Sustainable Investments. She then joined Newton Investment Management as an ESG analyst, before moving to join the sustainable investment team at T Rowe Price. Carolyn holds an MA (Cantab) in Economics from Cambridge University, and the CFA Certificate in ESG Investing.
Cheryl MacDonald

Cheryl joined Rathbones in 2022 and has over 11 years’ experience in the industry having previously worked for the multi-family office Stonehage Fleming and LGT Wealth Management. Outside of Financial Planning, she has previous experience working as a Detective in the Metropolitan Police and currently volunteers for the RNLI. Cheryl holds the both the Chartered Financial Planner designation and Fellow status from the Personal Finance Society. She was a finalist for Financial Planner of the Year - Scotland & NI in the Women in Financial Advice Awards 2024.
