About

Faye Church

Faye Church is a Chartered and Certified Financial Planner and a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society, with more than 25 years’ experience advising high net worth individuals, families, business owners and trustees. She is Head of Rathbones’ Guildford office and Financial Planning Lead for the South.

Faye specialises in retirement planning, pensions, inheritance tax, trusts and passing wealth between generations. Many of her clients are approaching retirement, have already retired or have recently sold a business. She helps them understand whether they have enough for the life they want, how much they can afford to spend and how they can support their children and grandchildren without compromising their own financial security.

She also advises families and trustees whose financial affairs involve several generations or competing priorities. This includes considering when and how to pass on wealth, assessing the affordability of lifetime gifts and understanding the tax and long-term financial consequences of different choices.

Faye’s approach starts with the decisions her clients need to make rather than with financial products. She takes time to understand their circumstances, priorities and concerns before explaining the available options in straightforward terms. Her advice may include establishing when a client can retire, planning how to draw an income, considering how family wealth should be structured or preparing for a significant change in circumstances.

Faye also works with people going through divorce. She helps them cut through the jargon surrounding financial settlements, understand the options for dividing assets and build confidence in how their finances should be structured once the divorce is complete.

Alongside advising clients, Faye supports the development of financial planning across Rathbones’ southern region. Her leadership responsibilities include developing advisers and contributing to training, supervision and advice standards.
