Ruth Milburn

Ruth is an Assistant Manager within the Trust Compliance team, specialising in charity accounts and charity compliance services. She joined Rathbones in 2024, bringing more than 35 years of experience across a broad range of accounting and finance roles.

Ruth holds a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance and an Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). She is currently working towards becoming an Independent Examiner of Charity Accounts, further enhancing her expertise within the charitable sector.

Prior to joining Rathbones, Ruth gained extensive experience in private practice supporting small and medium-sized businesses, before spending over 20 years managing the accounts function for a commercial property firm. She later specialised in the preparation of accounts for charities of varying sizes, developing a strong understanding of charity reporting and regulatory requirements.

At Rathbones, Ruth focuses on the preparation and review of charity accounts, helping clients meet their reporting obligations while providing practical support and guidance. Alongside her professional work, she is actively involved in the charitable sector, running a local water safety charity with her husband based at the South Liverpool Docks.
